Adecco are recruiting on behalf of the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham for experienced 7.5 Tonne Drivers to support essential waste and environmental services across the borough.

These roles directly support the Council's manifesto commitment to tackling fly-tipping and keeping streets clean and safe for residents.

Job Title: 7.5 Tonne Driver (D1 + CPC Required)
Client: London Borough of Barking & Dagenham
Location: Frizland Depot (Frizlands Lane Reuse and Recycling Centre, Rainham Road North RM10)
Contract Length: Approx. 6 months
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am - 2:00pm
Pay Rate: £17.83 per hour (PAYE) or £23.17 per hour (Umbrella)

Commercial Waste Team - 2 positions

Driving a 7.5 tonne vehicle with a loader
Collecting commercial waste across the borough
Assisting with loading waste into the rear of the vehicle as requiredFly-Tipping/Street Cleansing Team - 3 positions

Driving a 7.5 tonne vehicle with a loader
Collecting fly-tipped waste from streets and public areas
Supporting rapid response clean-ups to improve local environmentsKey Responsibilities

Safely operate a 7.5 tonne vehicle in line with council and road safety standards
Work alongside a loader to collect and remove waste
Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects
Follow all health & safety and waste management procedures
Represent the council positively while working in the communityEssential Requirements

Valid D1 licence
CPC qualification recorded on licence
Experience driving 7.5 tonne vehicles
Ability to carry out physical work as part of a team
