Senior Business Analyst - Technology & Operations

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support a major government organisation within its requirements management function. This role will collaborate closely with external customers, internal stakeholders, and technology, infrastructure, and operations teams to deliver secure, compliant, and effective solutions.

The Senior Business Analyst will lead end‑to‑end requirements elicitation and analysis, facilitate discovery activities and workshops, and produce clear, validated requirements to support successful project delivery. The role will also contribute to discovery phases, impact assessments, process optimisation initiatives, and operational readiness, ensuring strong alignment between business objectives and technical outcomes.

Key Requirements

Experience working within technology environments and secure government settings.
Proven background in delivering IT infrastructure within large‑scale programmes.
Strong stakeholder‑engagement skills, including interaction with external clients.
Advanced requirements gathering, documentation, and validation expertise.
Ability to support complex change programmes and discovery activities.Scope & Responsibilities

Apply suitable tools and methodologies to investigate business functions, systems, or processes to understand needs, issues, and opportunities.
Analyse data, structure information, use modelling techniques, generate options, and make recommendations to support business objectives.
Engage with stakeholders to elicit, define, and validate business requirements for project planning and delivery.
Produce and maintain high‑quality documentation to support project execution, service delivery, and benefits realisation.
Lead and facilitate decision‑making processes from initial concept through to acceptance, ensuring control of scope, cost, and alignment with strategic objectives.
Provide business assurance throughout the project and change lifecycle.
Maintain and develop professional expertise to support organisational growth.
Demonstrate strong technical understanding and offer consultancy on technical aspects of projects and portfolios.Skills & Experience

Essential

BCS/ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis or CBAP/CCBA certification.
Extensive experience applying BA tools and techniques across varied business projects and throughout the full project lifecycle.
Strong engagement skills, including workshop facilitation, negotiation, and managing challenging stakeholder interactions.Desirable

Prince2 Practitioner certification.
ITIL Foundation Certificate.
Membership of the British Computer Society or similar professional body.
Agile Foundation certification.
Broad experience of relevant business domains or customer portfolios
