Location: York
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000
Hours: Monday to Friday
Call-Out: 1 week in every 4 (paid)
Type: Permanent

The Role We are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business operating within a process-driven production environment.

This is a true 50/50 multi-skilled role (mechanical and electrical), suited to an engineer who enjoys a varied workload and takes pride in keeping production equipment running efficiently and safely.

You will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance, supporting continuous improvement and minimising downtime across the site.

Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery

React quickly to breakdowns and complete effective fault finding and repairs

Work across both mechanical and electrical systems

Support installation and commissioning of new machinery and upgrades

Maintain accurate maintenance and compliance records

Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities

Provide on-call support on a rotational basis (1 in 4)

Skills & Experience Required
Time-served apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND)

Proven experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role within manufacturing or process environments

Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding capability

Experience working with conveyors, motors, gearboxes, drives, and automated systems

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics

Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

Desirable Experience
Background in process manufacturing, food, feed, FMCG, or industrial production

Experience with PLC fault finding

Exposure to continuous improvement or reliability initiatives
