Job Opportunity: Domestic Abuse Family Support Specialist (With Childcare) – Women Only (Occupational Requirement)

📍 Location: Across sites in Central Northampton & Northamptonshire

🕒 Hours: 37 hours/week, flexible over 5 days (including evenings & on-call rota)

📅 Contract: Permanent

We’re looking for a compassionate, driven, and experienced Domestic Abuse Family Support Specialist to join our team supporting women, children, and young people affected by domestic abuse.

Occupational Requirement: This post is open only to women who are recorded female at birth and are not transgender (Schedule 9, Equality Act 2010).

What You’ll Do:

* Provide holistic support to families impacted by domestic abuse

* Deliver person-centred interventions across five key outcome areas: physical survival, safety, belonging, self-worth, and purpose

* Work in partnership with internal teams and external agencies

* Deliver group work and assist with childcare and children’s activities

* Manage a caseload and maintain accurate records

Essential Requirements:

* Relevant Level 3 childcare/youth qualification (e.g. NVQ Early Years, NNEB)

* Proven experience supporting vulnerable individuals/families with complex needs

* Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment, and trauma-informed practice

* Excellent communication, crisis management, and record-keeping skills

* Flexible, proactive, and team-oriented approach

* Full driving licence and access to own transport (or ability to travel effectively across the county)

* Willingness to work unsocial hours and be part of an on-call rota

* Must be currently living free from violence
