Plant Foreman - Banbury, Oxfordshire | £40,000 salary, paid overtime & clear progression

We're recruiting for an experienced Plant Foreman to lead a busy workshop operation in Banbury, Oxfordshire. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll take ownership of a diverse fleet, support a skilled engineering team, and play a key part in driving standards, safety, and efficiency within a well-established operation.

Key Responsibilities:

As part of this construction and plant hire operation, your role will include:

Supervising and leading a team of Plant Fitters and workshop personnel

Scheduling, allocating, and overseeing maintenance, servicing, and repair work across the fleet

Diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults

Ensuring all equipment meets statutory requirements including LOLER and PUWER

Completing final quality checks and testing before equipment returns to hire

Managing workshop stock, parts, tools, and consumables

Maintaining excellent HSE standards and ensuring full PPE compliance

Overseeing staff performance, training, rotas, and working hours

Keeping accurate service records, reports, and safety documentation

Monitoring costs, downtime, and workshop efficiency for management reporting

What we're looking for:

To succeed as a Plant Foreman, you'll ideally have:

Previous experience leading a workshop or engineering team

Strong technical knowledge of heavy equipment or plant hire machinery

A solid understanding of health & safety and compliance standards

Confident leadership and communication skills

The ability to plan workloads, manage priorities, and control costs

A hands-on, proactive approach with a high attention to detail
