Electrical Design Engineer

Permanent | Full‑Time | Hybrid Working Available

We are supporting an established engineering organisation with a long heritage in delivering high‑reliability, safety‑critical products for demanding environments. Due to continued growth and a major design‑to‑manufacture programme, they are now seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to strengthen their engineering capability.

This is a hands‑on design role offering exposure to end‑to‑end product development, from concept through to manufacture and test, within a fast‑paced and collaborative engineering environment.

The Role

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of electrical systems across a range of ruggedised and mission‑critical products. You will work closely with mechanical engineers, project managers, supply chain, and test teams to ensure designs are delivered on time, to specification, and ready for manufacture.

The engineering function is structured around product‑aligned business units, meaning you may support different product areas depending on programme demand and priorities - offering varied and technically interesting work.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop electrical systems in line with customer requirements, legislation, and internal design control procedures
Deliver designs that meet quality, cost, and programme objectives
Produce and review technical documentation to support design, manufacture, verification, and compliance
Support design‑to‑manufacture programmes and transition designs into test and production
Provide technical guidance and support to other engineers where required
Contribute to design reviews and, at senior level, take responsibility for design sign‑off
Support new business activity by providing technical input and cost estimates
Identify and implement design and process improvements to improve efficiency, quality, and safety
