Technical Projects Manager

  • Field: Manufacturing/Surveying
  • Deadline: 2026-03-07 11:03
  • Wakefield
Futures are working with a well-established manufacturing business that’s looking to appoint a Technical Projects Manager to take ownership of a wide-ranging portfolio of engineering and operational projects.

This is a standalone project role with real autonomy. You’ll be the only dedicated project professional in the business, working across functions to deliver multiple concurrent projects in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.

The role offers a genuinely varied project mix, with responsibility for managing several projects at any one time.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives
Machine moves and factory reconfiguration
Capital investment projects, including the purchase and installation of new press lines for key customers (e.g. Tier 1 / OEM clients)
Tooling design, procurement, and implementation

Proven Project Manager experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
Strong exposure to tooling and press work (highly desirable)
Experience delivering capital equipment and machinery projects
Comfortable managing multiple live projects with competing priorities
Confident operating autonomously as the sole project function
Strong technical and commercial awareness
This role would suit a hands-on, technically strong Project Manager who enjoys variety, ownership, and working close to the shop floor rather than within a large PMO structure.
