Our client, a leader in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking an exceptional Senior Software Development Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is a permanent role that offers an excellent opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, contributing to projects that are critical to national security and global defence. The position is based at their Malvern site, known for its state-of-the-art facilities and significant contributions to electronic warfare, surveillance, and complex system integration.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the delivery of cutting-edge projects, applying your development skills across the full software development lifecycle.
Design, develop, and test new software, adhering to industry best practices.
Build relationships within the customer community to support business growth.
Collaborate with other technical teams and customer service teams to ensure efficient delivery.
Champion development practices focused on creating high-quality deliverables that delight the customer.

Job Requirements:

Excellent understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience in designing and developing complex software projects.
Experience in understanding and influencing Systems Architecture and Design.
Proficiency in Java, Spring, and React, as well as experience with Source Code control systems.
Experience in Test-Driven Development (TDD).
Familiarity with Agile Software Engineering practices such as Scrum, CI/CD, and BDD.
Experience using Jira/Gitlab to drive development.
