Integration & Systems Validation Engineer

Our client, a leader in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking an Integration & Systems Validation Engineer to join their Integration and Systems Validation (ISV) team within the Weapon System Simulation and Experimentation (WSSE) department. This is a permanent role situated in a dynamic and growing area focusing on driving innovation and excellence in systems integration and testing for digital simulation and experimentation products.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the ISV in WSSE Team Lead, you will be responsible for:

Test/Proving Planning

Understanding customer needs/requirements from a proving perspective
Understanding design/architecture including input to test bed needs
Test planning, design, and specification

Test/Proving Conduct

Regular progressive assurance testing during software development
Supporting technical investigations into defects and emergent behaviours
Supporting external software integration with other engineering partners and customers
Data analysis of logs
Conducting formal qualification

Test/Proving Reporting

Regular reporting to project lead and stakeholders on software functionality
Writing test/analysis reports for certification
Support to software delivery/release process including certification

Job Requirements:

Understanding of systems proving and knowledge of how to test and certify complex systems throughout the development lifecycle
Experience in functional and/or software testing, and verification and validation (V&V) knowledge
Proficiency in tools like GitLab, Jenkins, Python scripting, IBM ALM ETM/Doors, PLM, JIRA, Excel, and basic Macros
Ability to understand different levels of the system and the different stakeholder's perspectives
Dynamic and proactive approach with strong self-management skills
Experience in monitoring the achievement of milestones and targets, identifying risks, and producing contingency plans
