Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (dependent on experience)

Our client, a respected and expanding ecological consultancy, is seeking a Senior Ecologist to join their Andover-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ecologist looking to take the next step in their career, with real responsibility, autonomy, and progression prospects.

The Role

As a Senior Ecologist, you will play a key role in delivering projects from start to finish, supporting junior staff, and maintaining high technical standards across a diverse portfolio of work.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading and undertaking a range of habitat and protected species surveys

Producing and reviewing high-quality ecological reports (PEAs, PRAs, EcIAs, HRAs where relevant)

Providing technical advice to clients and project teams

Managing projects, including timelines and budgets

Mentoring and supporting junior ecologists

Assisting with mitigation design, licensing, and implementation

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

A degree (or equivalent) in Ecology or a related field

Several years' experience in ecological consultancy

Strong report-writing and project management skills

Good working knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy

Membership of CIEEM (or eligibility)

Protected species licences (or demonstrable experience working towards them)

A full UK driving licence
