Experienced Animal Technician

What You’ll Do:
* Provide daily care and husbandry to laboratory animals, maintaining high welfare and ethical standards.
* Carry out regulated procedures under Home Office licensing, with meticulous record keeping.
* Support research teams by planning and delivering animal work to meet scientific goals.
* Train staff and users, perform audits, and ensure compliance with SOPs and Home Office requirements.
* Work flexibly across different areas to support operational needs, including weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
* Holder of a current Home Office Personal Licence.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work within defined SOPs.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Proven ability to plan and deliver work independently.
* Willingness to work on a weekend rota.
* Experience in laboratory animal care or research facility work.
* Familiarity with databases or spreadsheets for data recording.
* IAT qualifications (or working towards them).
* Keen interest in contributing to continuous improvement within the BSU.
