Murray Recruitment are recruiting an Assistant Accountant for our client based in South Lanarkshire.

Role Overview:

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a dynamic finance team in a full-time, permanent capacity. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will support a wide range of accounting activities, contributing to the preparation of both management and statutory accounts while also playing a vital role in financial reporting and analysis across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

* Preparation of quarterly and annual management and statutory accounts.

* Delivery of daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc sales and management reporting.

* Performing bank reconciliations, including cashbooks, and reconciling balance sheet accounts.

* Maintaining the fixed asset register.

* Assisting the Financial Controller with a variety of tasks and projects.

* Reconciling HMRC submissions, VAT, and import duty.

* Managing external warranty reconciliations.

* Supporting broader finance functions such as roll-out administration, margin reporting, foreign currency transactions, and integrity checks on landed cost valuations.

* Working closely with purchase ledger to ensure alignment across purchase and sales ledgers.

* Providing ad hoc financial reports to support other departments.

* Handling internal and external reporting related to sales, freight, distribution, and customer targets.

Skills & Experience:

* Qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience.

* Strong ability to prepare accounts up to Trial Balance.

* Proficient in using computerised accounting systems; experience with Pegasus Opera or Sage is advantageous.

* Confident in Microsoft Excel, with experience in report building using XRL and/or Infor highly beneficial.

* Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

* Strong organisational and communication skills.
