We are currently recruiting Canteen Workers to join our friendly and supportive catering teams within local schools and universities. These roles are available on a temporary basis with the potential to become permanent for the right candidates. Start dates available throughout the term.
Pay: Competitive hourly rates (dependent on site)
Employment Type: Full-time, ongoing temporary with permanent opportunities
About the Role
As a Canteen Worker, you’ll play an important part in delivering nutritious meals and providing excellent service to students and staff. You’ll be working in a fast-paced catering environment, helping with food preparation, serving customers, and ensuring the canteen runs smoothly and safely.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing and serving hot and cold food to students and staff
Assisting kitchen teams with basic food preparation
Supporting meal service and maintaining efficient food flow
Operating food service equipment safely
Ensuring the canteen and kitchen areas remain clean, hygienic, and well-organised
Adhering to food safety regulations and school/university policies
Providing friendly, polite, and professional customer service
Requirements
Previous experience in catering, hospitality, or food service
A food hygiene certificate or catering qualification is highly desirable
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Physically able to handle regular standing and light lifting tasks
Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards
Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude
