Management Accountant

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong analytical skills and experience in the construction or property sector.
Key Responsibilities of Management Accountant
* Prepare monthly management accounts within 10 working days of month-end.
* Review WIP, loan, accruals, and prepayment accounts.
* Maintain fixed asset registers and post monthly depreciation.
* Reconcile all general ledger accounts and investigate variances.
* Produce P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow reports for management and JV partners.
* Track project costs and update monthly site summary reports.
* Coordinate with Commercial, Land, and Sales teams on cost-to-complete and revenue projections.
* Prepare statutory accounts and corporation tax computations.
* Ensure compliance with DTI, CITB, NHBC, CIS, and ONS regulations.
* Prepare and reconcile weekly cashflow forecasts and support bank funding submissions.
* Assist with annual budgets and variance analysis.
The Candidate for Management Accountant
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a management accounting or auditing role.
* Experience in construction or property development preferred.
* ACCA / CIMA / ICAEW qualified or part-qualified.
* Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
* Experience using COINS or similar construction accounting software desirable.
* Excellent organisation, communication, and time management skills.
* Commercially minded with strong attention to detail.
